Roman Reigns returns to the ring on Saturday, wrestling his first match since losing the WWE title to Cody Rhodes this past April at WrestleMania 40.
Reigns will team with Rhodes at Bad Blood in a tag against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. It is a massive bout, likely even bumping Drew McIntyre and CM Punk from the main event spot, even though their stakes couldn’t be higher in a Hell in a Cell match. But this is Reigns, WWE’s signature star, and it is a tag match that will begin to lay the groundwork for WrestleMania 41–and, potentially, create a new star.
The biggest wild card for next year’s WrestleMania is the same as it was last year: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Does Johnson want to wrestle Reigns? Or does he prefer a showdown against Rhodes? Yet, remarkably, for the third straight year, the money matchup again looks to be Reigns vs. Rhodes.
And that brings us to Bad Blood on Saturday.
