R-Truth reflects on his return at Money in the Bank–and his viral promo
It has been an incredible four-month stretch for Ron Killings.
And, as the story continues, there are still more questions than answers.
It all began on the first of June when Killings announced his impending release from WWE. That spurred a loud response from both the fan base and the locker room to keep Killings in WWE.
Less than a week later, he was back in a WWE ring as R-Truth, continuing his feud with John Cena. That moment occurred at Money in the Bank, and there was universal applause when Truth made his return.
“I came in like I was entering Fort Knox,” said Killings, who was kept incognito from the locker room ahead of the surprise. “I went to Money in the Bank feeling like I was David Copperfield. Poof, I was there, and it was kept undercover.”
From there, Truth delivered his magnum opus on the June 9 edition of Raw. It was a promo that seemingly signaled the end of the comical R-Truth character and ushered in a more serious presentation of the craft from Ron “The Truth” Killings.
In only three minutes, Killings was extremely captivating. Standing on the announce table, he shaved his head, made his point, and left people wanting more. It was reminiscent of promos from earlier in Killings’ career, but now he has even more to draw from with nearly three decades of experience in pro wrestling.
